Red Robin Tingles Taste Buds

Red Robin at the Provo Towne Center Mall is a great place to go if you want fast service, yummy food and an overall great experience. Whether you are in the mood for a hamburger, cheeseburger, salad or wrap, Red Robin is an outstanding option.

I went with one of my parents for lunch after school one day, and we had a very positive experience. Our hostess and waiter were very friendly and helpful, and were very quick at getting us what we needed. I ordered the petite bacon cheeseburger, and it was just enough to satisfy my appetite. My dad ordered a salad and enjoyed it very much. For desert, we ordered the Mountain High Mud Pie, which made my taste buds tingle and my stomach stretch afterwards. Not only was the service great, but there were TV's places strategically so we could watch a football game.

Timpanogos's own Kristy Lee had a different story to tell when it came to the service recieved at Red Robin. "One time that I went, I swear our waiter that was serving us was drunk. We recieved our food a little later than it should have been and it was sloppy."

However, most students enjoyed their experience at Red Robin. Alex Travis shared her thoughts, "I really liked the fries and the fry sauce. The spices they put in it were really good, and the service was great." Olivia Tolman had a good time as well. She said, "I went to Red Robin on a sunny day in June. They had a very big kids menu with lots of choices. And their food is exquisite!"

So, whether its a steamy date or a family get together, Red Robin is the perfect destination for fun and food.

The Bravery: The Sun And The Moon

By Amy Stott

When listening to "The Sun and the Moon," I realized that it is a lot different from the self-titled album before. "The Sun and the Moon" is the second album The Bravery has released. It is much more complex than the album before. "The Sun and the Moon" has tuned down the electronics and strayed a little from their electronic sound, which didn't show all of their potential.

This album stands out compared to the other and creates a tightly harmonic melody and rhythm. The fourteen-track album has some powerful lyrics but keeps its audience with its upbeat nature. Senior Zack Morris says, "They are deep on a lyrical basis but keep upbeat with a pretty stellar melody."

The variety of "The Sun and the Moon" is quite a change from the ongoing synthetic sounds of the first CD. On this new album, the band is trying to explore other sounds as well as the synthesizing sound they are known for. From acoustic (Tragedy Bound) to a keyboard-driven song (Fistful of Sand), the band definitely shows that this album is a little more diverse.

In either album, I think you can find some pretty intense rock grooves. Senior Amber Lilly says, "It's not my favorite album, but I really like it. I like the lyrics." So if you enjoy music that has meaning but yet is upbeat, then "The Sun and the Moon" is an album you should check out.

Wii Brawl

by Colby Johnson

Super Smash Bros Brawl: a simple yet complicated game. Being the third game in a series, the first being for the Nintendo 64 and the second for the GameCube. Many people had high expectations for Nintendo to make Brawl the best game in the series, and that expectation was met.

By simplifying the control system and allowing gamers to use the GameCube controller, it helps experienced players adapt, and new players easily learn to play. They also added a 'final smash' system which can change the outcome of the game drastically. It allows gamers to use a super powerful attack that can kill one or all other players in an instant.

While many may think that most Wii games have average graphics and don't seem any better than the GameCube, Brawl isn't one of those games. Its 3D environments and characters add to the chaos, while also allowing gamers to see the stages better. Brawl has a wide variety of characters gamers can choose (up to 35). Ranging from a heavy hitter like Ganondorf or someone who is fast like Sonic. Since Nintendo added many more characters, people have a higher chance of choosing a character they like.

This time around, there are at least 42 different stages to choose from, and that is not including the 'build-a-stage' function. So be sure to experiment and create many stages. All in all, this game is highly recommended for all people who have a Wii.

Team Timpanogos

>> Thursday, September 4, 2008

The beginning of school brings many changes, but the newest change comes from having a new principal. Theron C. Murphy is the new principal at Timpanogos High, and his emphasis this year is on building a team spirit of working together with everyone at THS being #1 on the home team.

At the Timberwolf Times, we also celebrate the beginning of a new school year, and we are working hard to form a new journalism team. Our goal is to focus on the students of THS and make sure that everyone finds something interesting in the newspaper. We report on all the points, goals, and pride of the Wolf Pack.

Mr. Murphy often says, "The pride of the wolf is the pack, and the pride of the pack is the wolf." At the Timberwolf Times, we know that without you, there is no news and nothing for us to report. We hope that you'll check often, read the paper, and find something that grabs your attention in the pages of THS's newspaper.
